The Fondazione Ambiente Milano was founded by Amedeo Clavarino in 2004 with the aim to ameliorate peoples lives in all main Italian and European cities by reducing air pollution and urban traffic congestion. It receives support by a group of over a hundred entrepreneurs, academics, professionals, organizations and associations. 

The Foundation mainly promotes short terms solutions which, with their immediate implication, enable citizens to live healthy and circulate more smoothly in their cities.  Meanwhile it continues its study and research activities in order to identify other medium and long term solutions both in infrastructure and other areas and proceeds by promoting the most effective of those.

Based on the logic of impartiality and on the desire to contribute meaningfully to city growth, it promotes  "exportable" solutions which can easily be implemented in other large Italian and European cities which suffer from air pollution and traffic congestion, like Milan.
